Privacy Policy and Legal Information

WMTA Privacy Policy

Wisconsin Music Teachers Association respects the privacy of its members and visitors to its website. The following explains how WMTA collects, uses, and safeguards your information.

INFORMATION COLLECTION

Visitors to WMTA’s website are anonymous. Personal information, such as your e-mail address, is not collected. Your IP address (computer Internet address) is traced—but not linked to any personally identifiable information—so that WMTA may track the number of visitors to various areas of the website and the amount of time that is spent in each area. Other information that may be collected automatically is the type of computer and operating system you are using, which is supplied by your browser.

As with many websites, the WMTA website may utilize “cookies” to collect information about site use.

INFORMATION USE

Association Use

WMTA’s primary mode of communication is email. If you do not have an active email address, newsletters are posted on the WMTA website and will highlight any significant communications for our membership. Members without emails are encouraged to stay apprised of updates by meeting with local associations and asking leadership (WMTA Officers) for guidance regarding specific programs as needed.

USE OF MEMBER INFORMATION

All confidential membership information is derived exclusively from MTNA membership services at the national headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. Calendar year for membership runs from July 1-June 30. Membership dues processing takes 6-8 weeks. For any questions concerning the processing of your dues, please contact MTNA at Phone: (513) 421-1420 or (888) 512-5278. All pertinent updates to our state directory are conducted through our central office in Waunakee. To ensure membership record accuracy, be sure to contact our central office and report all changes (email, street address, name change).

Third-Party Use

WMTA also makes member contact information available to third parties offering products and services. This information may include names, job title, company/institution/studio, and address. Phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mails will not be disclosed.

DECLINE E-MAIL

At any time, you may discontinue receiving e-mails from WMTA simply by unsubscribing within the email. All e-mails you receive from WMTA will provide an opportunity to decline further e-mails. Members then understand that some WMTA information may not be available to them and that they will be responsible for checking the WMTA website for updates and information on all WMTA events, benefits, and competitions.
