FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, GRADES 9, 10, 11 & 12
The WMTA HIGH SCHOOL VIRTUOSO Competition was created in 2000 to provide an additional opportunity for high-achieving music students in grades 11 and 12, which has since been extended to include grades 9 and 10. The competition represents a major achievement for the talented, highly motivated high school student who wishes to prepare and perform a demanding program comparable to the MTNA Senior Performance Competition but a more economical alternative without worrying about advancement. The HIGH SCHOOL VIRTUOSO
Competition is sponsored by WMTA. This event is held in the fall of the year.
Student must be studying with a current WMTA member (membership dues must be paid by the audition entry deadline). Students may not enter the HIGH SCHOOL VIRTUOSO Competition in the same year in the same category as entering an MTNA performance competition.
Entrants will receive participation points, as well as monetary awards for the winner and runner-up.
